14 March 2023 - Ms Diksha Jasrotia, an M.Sc. student of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded first position in poster presentation at the International Conference on “Climate Resilient Agriculture for Food Security and Sustainability” held at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana from February 17 – 19, 2023. Diksha presented her work on “Genetic analysis of opaque2 modifiers influencing kernel opacity and amino acid content in Quality protein Maize." The study aimed to identify genomic regions for understanding the genetics of kernel modifiers and for further development of maize lines having higher lysine and tryptophan content.

The PAU Vice–Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr Pradeep Kumar Chhuneja, and Head of the Department Dr VS Sohu congratulated the student and her advisor, Dr Ramesh Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIMR for this achievement and success.
